What is dark spots?
Dark spots, also called hyperpigmentation, are patches of skin that have produced more pigment than the surrounding area. They appear as brown, pink or grey marks left behind by spots, sun damage or hormonal changes, and they are one of the most common reasons people seek out a new skincare routine.
Pigment sits at different depths in the skin, which is why some marks fade in weeks and others take months. The right combination of brightening actives, gentle exfoliation and daily SPF can fade existing marks and stop new ones forming, without the irritation that older "bleaching" approaches caused.

The root of it
What causes dark spots?
Sun exposure
UV triggers melanin production as a defence mechanism, every unprotected minute deepens existing marks and creates new ones.
Post-inflammatory marks
After a spot, bite or irritation heals, pigment lingers where the skin was inflamed.
Hormones
Melasma, patchy pigmentation on the cheeks and forehead, is driven by oestrogen and pregnancy.
Skin trauma
Picking spots, harsh exfoliation and even some treatments can trigger pigment as the skin heals.
Your routine
The dark spots routine
A simple morning and evening routine, switch between AM and PM to see what each step does.
Cleanse
A gentle cleanser prepares skin without irritating, inflammation is what drives more pigment.
Brighten
A vitamin C serum with ferulic acid brightens and defends against the free radicals that trigger pigment.
Protect
SPF 30+ every single day, without it, every other step is undone and marks will darken.
Realistic expectations
When will I see results?
Skin takes time to turn over. Tap each milestone to see what to expect, and when.
Weeks 1–4
