What is sensitivity?
Sensitive skin reacts, to fragrance, to weather, to actives that other skin handles fine. It stings, flushes and flares, and over time a weakened barrier lets in more of what irritates it. There is a difference between skin that is naturally sensitive and skin that has become sensitised by over-exfoliation or harsh products, but the route back to calm is the same.
The approach is minimalism: fewer products, fragrance-free formulas, and a barrier-first routine that rebuilds the skin's natural defence. Once the barrier is strong again, most sensitivity settles, and you can reintroduce actives slowly, on skin that can actually tolerate them.

The root of it
What causes sensitivity?
Fragrance
The most common irritant in skincare, natural or synthetic, fragrance triggers reactions in sensitive skin.
Over-exfoliation
Too many acids or retinoids strip the barrier and turn normal skin sensitised.
Weather
Cold wind, indoor heating and sun exposure all challenge a fragile barrier.
Harsh actives
High-strength acids, alcohol-based toners and strong retinol overwhelm sensitive skin.
Compromised barrier
When ceramides and lipids are depleted, irritants get in and water gets out.
Your routine
The sensitivity routine
A simple morning and evening routine, switch between AM and PM to see what each step does.
Cleanse
A creamy, fragrance-free cleanser cleans without stripping, never use foaming or sulphate washes on sensitive skin.
Soothe
A niacinamide serum calms redness and supports the barrier without the sting of stronger actives.
Strengthen
A barrier-first moisturiser with ceramides rebuilds the skin's natural defence through the day.
Realistic expectations
When will I see results?
Skin takes time to turn over. Tap each milestone to see what to expect, and when.
Days 1–7
Stinging and tightness ease as you strip the routine back to the essentials. Skin feels more comfortable immediately.
